Overall, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a great first person shooter that is loads of fun to play. You'll have to search far and wide to find these cleverly hidden spots, but the rewards are often worthwhile. Each area of the game also contains numerous secret areas to discover, as well as hidden treasures to find. From pistols and combat knives to shotguns and SMGs, there are a slew of fun guns to engage with. Weapons are easily obtainable, and you'll get to enjoy blasting enemies with a great range of weapons.

Early stages especially are full of tight corridors and narrow passageways, which you'll have to navigate to find the exit. Like the original game, many levels can feel maze-like. Along the way, you'll complete objectives, find collectibles and new weaponry, and explore the environment. Gameplay is similar in nature to the franchise's original formula, but with a decidedly modern spin. Working for a government agency known as the Office of Secret Actions, Blazkowicz tries to learn more about the evil General Deathshed and his range of paranormal experiments. Players once again take on the role of BJ Blazkowicz, who embarks on military missions to take down the Nazi machine. Return to Castle Wolfenstein takes the same setting and tone of the original game, but amps it up in some fun ways.

Set during World War II, the game followed soldier BJ Blazkowicz. the second problem was that there was an additional folder i needed to delete after fixing the first mistake.The story of Wolfenstein 3D was appropriately simple, given the time the game came out. So the original problem i had with omnibot, was that i had the RTCW version instead of the ET version, and it didn’t like the config files in ET. when fixing the type of mistake i made, or upgrading omnibot, this directory must be deleted. if the existing versions are the wrong ones, it’ll error out. omnibot copies the library (.so) files there if they don’t exist, and reads them if they do. Well, tnx all that helped… figured it out… make a note of this if anything similar happens in the future…Īfter fixing my stooooopid mistake of having the wrong copy of omnibot installed, the cause of the last errors turned out to be i had to delete the ~/.etwolf/omnibot directory that omnibot creates when you load it (for those of you somewhat new to linux, that’s /home/yourusername/.etwolf/omnibot ).

Got the proper version loaded now… it will start a game, but still will not load bots. Ok, the reason for the error was i had the RTCW version instead of ET… that’s what i get for downloading files at 3am…
